I've spent the night in a Taliban prison when I was 24, in late 2003. I've also sat at the head of a table in a former Taliban commander's home while he sat two seats away listening to my every word. I had no idea who he was and why I had so much of his attention. When I think about it, I wish Foursquare, Twitter or Gowalla were around for that. It would have been the check in of a life time.
Sometimes, I know I've seen more of the world than I wish. It certainly is safer to see the world from the safe cocoon of your backyard. War can be pretty ugly, but it is just one of the many things that have defined who I am today. I would not take it back for the world. My experiences have taught me more than I could have ever imagined while growing up in Youngstown, Ohio. I've ran two newspapers. I've started my own digital media consulting company called Greveo. I am currently working on starting another company that focuses on creating dynamic online applications, called Social Media Lab. It's not much but each new experience has brought me to where I am today. It is safe to say my life has been an adventure. If you like, I would love to let you be a part of it.
